Bigfoots and Zombies

Bigfoot eats bacon
Zombie eats brains
Bigfoot has the walk
Zombie has a drag
Bigfoot blends in to wilderness
Zombie blends in to a black and white movie
Bigfoot stinks
Zombie, I don't know?

Taters to the Family

Digging taters all day
I throw them at zombies in the evening
When moontime arises
Sometimes they love onions
Sometimes they hate onions
It depends on the dirt they left
If they were dug out of sand
They are still cranky but fair
If they were dug out of clay
They are sunspot and full moon crazy
That is when they get a tater in the face.

Zombies, Hamburgers and Wild Onions

Zombies and the hamburgers
Add some fries here and there
Just sitting down on some good ground
Just eating hamburgers and watching zombies
They walk and are going in straight lines
They fall and get up
They walk sideways when pushed
And sometimes they like to eat wild onions

Zombies of the Ancient Cornbread

Lashing out at a mad man
A mad zombie
A central brained man of antique wisdom
Castle of means and ways
They live on the near hill
Tell them they must come out
There are people here
They bring the sweet tea over
And lay it near an ancient date tree
It is only a short time until the pond is ready
Go have a picnic on the creek
Forget about the old cornbread on your mind
Those other poets are long gone
They were only made of cardboard anyway
When it rained, they turned back into wasp spit.

Zombie in the Field of Potatoes

The laying down of the zombie
A quiet and dismal movement
The zombies lie in my garden of potatoes
They seem to love to lie there
Try that they may to listen to the potatoes
The potatoes and the zombies have a bond
A bond that is growing day by day
The corn is jealous of their nature.

Moon and Distance

Moon over night in my head
The old tractor awaits a driver
The plow stands still near the tree
One cow eats
The garden grows all night long
The bugs slumber near a rotten log
The wild dogs yell their name
Distant, one owl leaves a message
Frogs warn of rain near morning.

Side Barn Zombie

Side view of a thing in the window
A barn zombie passing through
A side walking old sassyquatch
Barn side side ways
A side viewed barn
Or is it just a barn on its side.
